SPEAKER PROFILES

Dr. Roland B.Wilson

Dr. Wilson is the Program Coordinator, Professor and faculty advisor for the School for Analysis of Conflict and Resolution at George Mason University’s campus in South Korea. He is also the Peace and Conflict Studies Center Asia (PACSC Asia) Co-director. As an international mediator and consultant, Dr. Wilson possesses more than 30 years of combined military, government and academic experience and has written about a myriad of complex subjects, including Asia Pacific relations, foreign policy, diplomacy, and security and conflict issues.

Mr. Rieu Kim

Mr. Kim is a Partner at Barun Law LLC. He has extensive experience advising Korean and international companies on a wide range of M&As, cross-border transactions, and general corporate matters. He also has represented clients in arbitration cases before the KCAB, ICC, HKIAC, AAA, and CAS. Mr. Kim graduated from Yonsei University, College of Business and Economics (B.A.) He also holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Ms. Jiwon Baik

Ms. Jiwon Baik is an associate attorney at Barun Law LLC. Ms. Baik received both her B.A. and J.D. from Seoul National University and is a member of the Korean Bar. Prior to joining Barun Law LLC in 2021, Ms. Baik worked at another business law firm in South Korea. The focus of her legal practice is civil disputes, fair trade law, and corporate transactions. She has provided legal services to both domestic and international clients in connection with complex and administrative disputes in South Korea.

Mr. Michael, van Muelken

Mr. van Muelken is a Foreign Attorney at Barun Law. His major practice areas are construction, real estate and finance. He has written extensively on the topic of arbitration. He has experience working in both the US and Korean legal systems advising clients on areas such as company establishment, eminent domain issues, as well as promissory note contracts.

Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alaska, and a J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School.

Mr. Alex Jensen Moderator

Alex has been a broadcaster for nearly two decades, working additionally as a communications consultant with some of Korea’s most important businesses in recent years. His radio career began with LBC in the UK before he added TV to his resume with ESPN. Having covered news and sports extensively from London, Alex moved to Seoul in 2010 to broadcast current affairs as a TV/radio host for local media outlets such as Yonhap News Agency and act as a Seoul-based reporter for global outlets including CBS News, BBC, ITV, and Sky News.
